Exhibit
Vittorio Sella, Martin Chambi, Ansel Adams, Axel Hütte. Luce della Montagna
Brescia Photo Festival - 6th edition
Description
Mountain Light is the major exhibition organised by Fondazione Brescia
Musei and Skira to explore, with three absolute protagonists of XX Century
photography and a contemporary master, the iconographic universe of
mountains. This narration of the world of mountains includes pictures taken by the great Ansel Adams, his black and white photographs of American national park landscapes, authentic XX Century totems; by Martin Chambi, one of South America’s first major photographers, with his Peruvian Andes steeped in ethnographic and historical documentation; by Vittorio Sella, one of the most extraordinary historical mountain photographers, committed like no other to documenting the mountaneering explorations. And lastly, with a new portfolio currently in the making commissioned by Fondazione Brescia Musei, the exhibition includes pictures of the Brescian Alps captured by Axel Hütte, one of the most significant interpreters of contemporary German photography.
The exhibition is the highlight of the sixth Brescia Photo Festival, an event
produced by Fondazione Brescia Musei, on the occasion of the extraordinary
2023 edition dedicated to the theme Capital, also involving Mo.Ca – Centre for New Cultures.
