Sub Limen Festival: Cmqmartina, Nicol Bana

Music, art and culture to rediscover places distant in space and time

Description

On the threshold between ancient and modern, one step away from the multitude of forms to be chosen tomorrow, there stands Sub Limen. A combination of music, art, culture, ancient history and the future, to rediscover places separated by space and time.

Six contemporary music performances for an unforgettable experience that will have you dancing in the midst of archaeological landscapes of high cultural tension whilst unleashing enough energy to run a power station.

For the first time, the Roman Theatre of Brescia will encounter sounds never heard before whilst the Daste Cultural Centre shall be the epicentre of a musical revolution!

There will be two macro appointments, a summer one from 21st to 23rd July 2023 at the Roman Theatre of Brescia and a winter one from 17th to 19th November 2023 at the Daste Cultural Centre. Sub Limen’s artistic choices range from electronic, pop and experimental.

Undoubtedly representing the more oblique side of the festival is Davide “BOOSTA” Di Leo, known as keyboard player and founder of the legendary Subsonica, who will perform a special piano and electronic machine show in the splendid setting of Roman Theatre of Brescia. Then there is the island-born singer and musician Daniela Pes, who has just released her first album sung in Sardinian and produced by fellow island local, Iosonouncane. The 72 Hour Post Fight project moves to a mix of electronica, hip-hop and jazz, having already graced important national (Club to Club and Mi Ami) and international (Eurosonic) stages. Then there is the inimitable Nziria, a singer and producer of Neapolitan origin who mixes electronics, rave atmospheres and Neapolitan neo-melodic music, singing of queer love and identity in the making.

We then move to the more Indie Pop sphere where we have artists cmqmartina with a mix of pop and electronica and Ginevra, fresh from performing on the Primo Maggio stage in Rome and one of the most current faces on the Italian Indie Singer-songwriter scene.

Next comes Ivreatronic, a musical collective that includes Cosmo, Enea Pascal, Foresta and Leonar, who will offer an all-night-long DJ set for the occasion, with six hours straddling downtempo melodies, experimental electronics and techno.

For Sub Limen, the relationship with the territory is fundamental, which is why some interesting projects from Bergamo and Brescia shall also take to the stage. From the Indie songwriting of Nicol Bana to the experimentation of pianist Simone Lombardi, via the electronic collective FUCK!LÀCREME and Indie-Pop singer JOO together with BLK Donuts.
